Flux Snap on Connector Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble, please be assured that every Flux snap-on cable is tested on genuine Flux lightstrips before shipping. We only send out connections that work perfectly on the first try.

Because each cut to a lightstrip is unique, connecting to it can very occasionally be tricky at first. This is also true for Philips cables designed for cut ends.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps.

The first one is VERY important, often gets overlooked and solves most problems.

  1. If you connect a section of lightstrip while it's powered on and calibrated to a shorter length, the new section will NOT light up until you power it off and on again. Make sure to unplug the lightstrip from the wall—not just off in the app—before changing its length. This lets it recalibrate to the new length so the gradient spreads over the extra sections when you turn it back on.
  2. Lightstrips cannot be plugged in backwards and must all face the same direction. Please refer to the instructions to identify the correct orientation.
  3. If the connection is unreliable or that lightstrip section independently flickers, ensure the cut is straight and directly over the designated cut line.
  4. As you close the clasps tightly, continue pushing the lightstrip inward simultaneously to ensure it is fully inserted before it clamps down.
  5. It will work correctly only after the clasp is fully closed, which securely presses the contacts together.

After following these steps, power the device off and on again so it recognises the new length now that a tighter and cleaner connection has been made.

We want to make sure everything is working perfectly for you.If you are still having trouble after following these steps, please let us know.
